MIKEL ARTETA PRAISES AARON RAMSDALE AMID DAVID RAYA COMPETITION AFTER ARSENAL WON BRENTFORD
Mikel Arteta spoke highly of Aaron Ramsdale after Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Brentford in the League Cup. Ramsdale returned to the team for the match at the Gtech Community Stadium, as Reiss Nelson’s strike put the Gunners through to the last 16. David Raya had played in Arsenal’s previous three matches, but Ramsdale was brought back into the squad on Wednesday.

Ramsdale has seen his playing time limited since the arrival of former Bees international David Raya, with the Spaniard having featured in the Gunners’ last three matches.
Arteta came under scrutiny for leaving Ramsdale out of the squad to make way for Raya after the 1-0 win over Everton earlier this month.
Arteta wants to normalize the idea of rotating goalkeepers and treating the position as an outfield position, hinting that there will be no established No. 1 at the Emirates this season.
The England goalkeeper returned between the sticks at the Gtech Community Stadium, and Arteta spoke of the 25-year-old in glowing terms.
He say:
“He was excellent in this situation. Like everyone.
“We love him more, that’s for sure. We have it every day. We know him, we know his personality and we are really happy to have him.
“I don’t think I’m the one to answer the question of how good Aaron Ramsdale is because I’m the one who signed him when people were questioning that decision. So I don’t think I’m the one to answer this question.
“Every player is very important. We also had a lot of injuries and players who contributed. But in football, it is now, the present moment.
