Mason Greenwood: Man Utd striker joins Getafe on loan after agreeing to leave Old Trafford
Man Utd confirmed Mason Greenwood would leave the club last month following an internal investigation into allegations of willful rape, control and rape and assault against him; he will continue his career with Getafe in La Liga, the elite team of Spanish football
CPS had to drop the charges against Greenwood after “the withdrawal of key witnesses and new documents came to light meant there was no longer any prospect of actual conviction”.
Greenwood will now continue his career playing for Getafe in La Liga, Spain’s top division, for the remainder of the season.
A statement from United read:
“Mason Greenwood has signed with La Liga club Getafe CF on a season-long loan, subject to an international license.
“This decision allows Greenwood to begin rebuilding his career away from Manchester United.
“The club will continue to support Mason and his family during this transition period.”
