It took a long time and was thought to be a summer transfer drama, but Andre Onana’s signing from Inter Milan led to Manchester United manager Eric ten Haag. The Cameroon international is very accustomed to handling the ball with his feet and is a modern goalkeeper who allows the Red Devils to play from behind. He replaces David de Gea as number one.

Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
United have had their sights on Onana for some time now, and the pursuit intensified after David de Gea’s departure was confirmed.
Despite Inter’s reluctance to finalize a deal, the Premier League giant managed to make a cross-border move for an estimated £50million transfer fee.

The centre-back will join United on a five-year contract until June 2028 with an option for a further year.
“It’s an incredible honor to join Manchester United,” he told the club’s website. “And I’ve worked hard all my life to get to this moment, overcoming many obstacles along the way.”
“It will be another great experience to be at Old Trafford, defending goal and contributing to the team.”
“This is the beginning of a new journey for me, with new ambitions to fight new teammates.”

Ahead of the announcement, Onana said he would bid an emotional farewell to the Serie A club and embark on a “new journey” at Old Trafford.
“I fell in love with San Siro, La Curva and the city, and now the conditions are right for me to start a new journey in Manchester.
“We are working very hard, but we know we will miss you. We are eternally grateful to all of you for your interest.” You make this club great. ”
Onana’s arrival will be a huge boost for manager Eric ten Haag. He prefers his team to play from behind and Cameroon players are very accustomed to having the ball at their feet.
For Onana, who worked under Ten Hag at Ajax, the process should go smoothly at Old Trafford.
Onana joined the Dutch team at the age of 18 in 2015 and spent seven seasons in Amsterdam before joining Inter in 2022.
